Quarantine Zen Moment
Being under quarantine has given me a lot of time for introspection. I started thinking about how I’ve held myself back at times for not speaking my own truth and by falling into a people-pleasing mindset.
I talked this over with my housemate in the kitchen while cleaning a cooking pot I used to make dinner.
He shrugged and told me “sometimes it’s better if we don’t think too much.”
He then pointed to the Domino’s pizza box he was eating out of and said “for example: right now I’m thinking that I shouldn’t have ordered this pizza when I could just be eating it and enjoying life.”
He might not have directly responded to what I said but his answer made more sense than any other answer he could have given. Suddenly, I felt at peace. My mind was now cleaner than that pot could ever be.
